Hi Diggy!

Why Don't Clouds Get Lost?

D

Diggy

Hmm.

D

Diggy

Clouds are funny.

D

Diggy

They spend all day traveling around the sky, and they never seem worried about where they're going.

D

Diggy

I've gotten lost before.

D

Diggy

Quite a few times, actually.

D

Diggy

Once I was looking for a blackberry bush, and I ended up at a pond.

D

Diggy

I don't know how that happened.

D

Diggy

The blackberry bush wasn't anywhere near the pond.

D

Diggy

At least, I don't think it was.

D

Diggy

Maybe I got lost before I got lost.

D

Diggy

That seems possible.

D

Diggy

Anyway, clouds never seem to have that problem.

D

Diggy

They just float along.

D

Diggy

I've never seen a cloud stop and say, "Oh dear. I think I took a wrong turn."

D

Diggy

Maybe clouds don't need to know exactly where they're going.

D

Diggy

Maybe they're happy just seeing where they end up.

D

Diggy

I don't know if I could do that.

D

Diggy

I like having a plan.

D

Diggy

Well... I like thinking I have a plan.

D

Diggy

Sometimes my plans are mostly guesses.

D

Diggy

Actually, most of my plans are mostly guesses.

D

Diggy

Maybe that's not so different from a cloud.

D

Diggy

Maybe everybody gets a little lost sometimes.

D

Diggy

Birds probably do.

D

Diggy

Squirrels definitely do.

D

Diggy

I once watched a squirrel spend ten minutes looking for an acorn that was in his paw the whole time.

D

Diggy

So maybe being lost isn't such a strange thing after all.

D

Diggy

Maybe the strange thing is that clouds never seem worried about it.

D

Diggy

Maybe they trust that wherever they end up will be interesting.

D

Diggy

That's a nice thought.

D

Diggy

If I ever get lost again, maybe I'll try being a little more like a cloud.

D

Diggy

Although I should probably still bring a map.

D

Diggy

Just in case.
